Central Japan International Airport Centrair (CJIAC) Upgrades to New ARINC Passenger Technologies
December 15, 2011
Singapore—ARINC Incorporated has been awarded a significant contract to upgrade its iMUSETM check-in and departure systems currently in use at Japan’s Central Japan International Airport Centrair (CJIAC). ARINC originally installed the common-use systems in 2005 for the airport’s opening.
ARINC will replace the 6-year-old systems with its newest common-use technology, vMUSETM. The vMUSETM
platform will help CJIAC to reduce software engineering costs for common-use operation because it is fully interoperable with today’s CUTE common-use equipment as well as tomorrow’s CUPPS common-use systems.
ARINC expects to complete the upgrade by June 2012.
ARINC has also provided the airport recently with its latest BagLinkTM
Baggage Messaging technology, which enables passengers’ baggage to be sorted and routed remotely, helping the airport to save time and increase cost efficiencies.
“ARINC’s technology has supported our airport operations for many years, and the solutions have simplified and automated our passenger processes,” said Mr. Noboru Terada, Group Leader of CJIAC’s IT Services Department. “Upgrading to the latest version of vMUSE and BagLink not only further enhances our operations but also allows us to enjoy cost efficiencies.”
Jim L. Martin, Managing Director of ARINC Asia Pacific, said “We are delighted to continue working closely with CJIAC to support their growing passenger requirements. ARINC remains fully committed to delivering state-of-the-art technology for CJIAC and other airports in Japan, and around the region.”
